Prerequisites

This tutorial assumes that you have downloaded and installed the latest version of STE.

Step-by-step tutorial

Opening a file stored on your computer is simple:

Step 1: Open the File Chooser

Click on the Open button in your editor's toolbar, or select "File" then "Open File…" from the menu.
Step 2: Select a file from your computer's file system

Find the file you want to open, left-click on it, and then left-click on the Open button.
Step 3: And you're done!

The document stored in that file will be loaded into the editor, and the status bar will be updated to indicate that STE has finished opening your file. You're now able to begin making changes.
