Can you clarify something for me? I was under the impression that the "command" button on a Mac is exactly the same as the "ctrl" button on Windows - is this correct?

You make it sound like there is a command and ctrl button on Mac keyboards. Let me know if I have that right…

Paste is meant to be Ctrl+V, and Select All is meant to be Ctrl+A … so if they work with Command+V and Command+A, respectively, then I would assume that's how it's meant to be?

There's both a command key and a control key. In most applications, and natively, command acts the same as control on Windows (cmd+v = paste, cmd+a = select all, etc). The control key is traditionally used to invoke a 'right click', but also has some other functions when editing text, like those described in the original post above (moving the cursor, etc). So it looks like STE correctly assigns some shortcuts to the command key, but not others?

Okay, do I understand this right?

STE's menu shows the shortcut "Ctrl+V" next to the "Paste" option, but Ctrl+V actually does something completely different and instead, Command+V pastes from the clipboard.

I'm finding your post a bit confusing still - mostly because I do not have a Mac in front of me. Could you post a screenshot of the menus on a Mac? That may help me to figure out what needs to be fixed.

Well I've kinda forgotten what needed fixing as well, but I had a quick look at STE and I think all you need to do is change the menu hints from ^ + key to ⌘ + key.

Hopefully the changes I have made in v3.24 have fixed this problem - please confirm?

Yep, the edit menu now properly reflects the functions of the keyboard shortcuts. Thanks.
