I used to use it for accessing the API at University, but something's changed over at the network here and now nor does that work - but I cannot see the theme of any Wikidot site from campus :\ Therefore, the network tab is currently useless for me.

If no-one else uses it, I'll remove it. So would the removal of that tab cause problems for anyone?

I've never really known what it's for… so it would be no great loss for me.

That's what I thought.

It's to allow people to access the Wikidot API from behind a corporate proxy - much like virtually all businesses and educational institutions use to separate their private intra-net from the Internet. It's a necessary level of security.

The problem is, any application wanting to access the Internet from within that private intra-net has to jump through hoops just to get there. Passing through firewalls and the proxy I mentioned above.
