Really? Hmm.. that's strange.

I'm on Windows 7 Professional 32-bit, so the only difference is the architecture (you're using 64-bit).

Does anyone else have the 32-bit version? I'd be interested to know if this is a computer-specific issue (only me) or architecture-specific issue (only 32-bit).

Is the location you're trying to save to on a network share or mapped drive? It could be a permissions problem.

Or it could be a focus problem. I just confirmed this is a problem. I can't see your whole dialog in your screenshot, so am guessing.

@Ed: It's the Documents folder, so it won't be a permissions problem. That was something I had considered already :)

The 'focus problem' might be the reason, but I don't really understand from that page how to fix it as it is referring to Windows explorer in that case, rather than a Java application. Everything works fine for me in Windows explorer. Hmm.

You've given me some search terms to use in Google… will see if I can figure this out sometime tomorrow.

I lose the ability to create a new folder if I click any of the "places" icons (My Documents, Desktop, etc.). Putting the focus back inside the folder/file window activates the new folder options.

I've found that it's as you said Ed, the main libraries do not allow me to create a folder :( Which is annoying, as STE opens the Documents folder by default and I save everything there.

Rejecting this for now… as there is no way to change this behaviour that I can find.
