I get an error with STE 4.3 ( think it is 4.3) with the compiler version of Excelsior JET :

Sorry, but after download again from the STE Launcher 1.01 and re-extract all is ok with 4.04…

It seems to be the OLD STE startup with the version 2.01 for windows i had on the dsktop…
Now I am missing my old & running Version 3.53

Yes, that was a much older release. Deleting that file and replacing it with the one on the download page should fix everything.
