I find it inconvenient to have to upload screenshots elsewhere and then link to them in my posts. Plus, the files will stay linked to the page they're being used on. If that's not easy or something you don't want to do, how about giving us an upload page here to host the screenshots? Included page "inc:signature" does not exist (create it now) |

I especially like that I can preview my reply and then create a partial quote with a simple copy/paste like I've been doing forever around Wikidot. :O Where did I lose one? ;-) Was it the above-mentioned problem of not being able to quote only part of a post easily? P.S. Replied here because we were getting off topic on the weneed page. Included page "inc:signature" does not exist (create it now) |

:O Where did I lose one? ;-) Was it the above-mentioned problem of not being able to quote only part of a post easily? P.S. Replied here because we were getting off topic on the weneed page. The downside is that you can only easily quote the last post in the thread unless you plan ahead. Once a user knows the preview trick, and assuming they understand enough basic syntax, it's pretty easy to replace the [[include ... ]] line with the partial quote you want to use. I would suggest adding a comment that explains this tip (and try to do it in a "condensed" version!) I really like how you've designed this and for advanced users it's easily a 10 out of 10! :) Included page "inc:signature" does not exist (create it now) |

I didn't even realise that would work! :D Where would you suggest that I add that tip? I could add it to the 'post preview' section and say that the post can be copied and pasted to only reply to part of it… … or I could probably add it to the Quote pop-up. That'd mean people see the tip even if they don't click on the Preview button, but would look messier. Included page "inc:signature" does not exist (create it now) |

There's not an easy way to do this unless you plan on that beforehand and copy the text first. leiger wrote: It was a happy surprise to me too! leiger wrote: How would you get it in the post preview section? I would put it into the reply template as comments. I'll work on adding something to the documentation section that explains what we're talking about with some screen shot support (worth a 1000 words). leiger wrote: That reminds me… Can you add a few pixels of padding-left to the pop-up boxes? It would make it easier to slide the mouse into the proper spot to highlight the text before copying. I would also suggest changing the permalink pop-up text to say Right-click and Copy this link >. I right-clicked the permalink text and copied that a couple of times and kept getting javascript; when I pasted it. :) Included page "inc:signature" does not exist (create it now) |

One minor quibble with the attach files link is that it would be more convenient and more obvious if the link was at the bottom of the page. For consistency, I'd recommend duplicating the printer friendly and upload links on the top of the page and put another copy of them on the bottom of the page. Not sure if it has access to the clipboard… Ed Johnson wrote: By adding it to the post:_template page, the same way I've added the text "Post Preview" and the box around the preview :) Ed Johnson wrote: That would be great! Ed Johnson wrote: I think I tried that but it added an extra space on the left of the line, which would have stopped the include from working. Or maybe it just looked like that. I didn't actually try pasting it in again to see if the space was added to the clipboard. Will see what I can do after saving this post. Ed Johnson wrote: Hmm, that's basically what I've already got. Would moving the link to the next line help, so that it's not all the way on the right? I'll do that after I save this post as well. Ed Johnson wrote: Will do.
